The location of the village of Tivenys

 

Tivenys can be located on the right hand side of the River Ebro coming from Tortosa in land.  Tivenys covers an area of approximately 52,46 km2, with its inhabitants of 936 in this present day.

We have the village of Bitem to the South and the village of Benifallet to the North.  To the West we have the mountainous Ports region with the National Park and Mount Caro which has the highest mountain peak in this area at 1447 metres.  On the East we have a set of mountains which include the Cardó mountain range with the Punta d'Agulla at 687 metres, the Creus de Santos at 941 metres, the Boix mountain range with Roca Foradada at 756 metres and La Buinaca at 746 metres.  On  the coast we also have Terre de L'ebre a Nature Reserve, the Ebro Delta covers an area of 32,000 hectares and is the second most important wetland in the Iberian peninsular.  It is thought that 50% of the Ebro Delta is taken up with the growth of rice and is cultivated between the months of April and October, you can find flocks of Flamingos and other migratory birds in this nature reserve heaven.
